I think accidents happen, but that it's our job as marketers to be as ethical as we can. We should never purposefully market adult products to children, use adult content in our messaging in an attempt to reach children, or show adult ads on sites that are targeted to children. But ultimately it's the responsibility of parents to make sure they block sites that are inappropriate. Beyond that, it's a conversation about how products that are meant for children can be marketed to them in an ethical way that doesn't take advantage of them. And how is social media going to change the way that consumers and brands interact in the future - these kids will come to expect the things we're just beginning to see. And that's the conversation I wanted, and still want, to have.
